Canyon Creek Cabins Cabin #3
Recently I had the privilege of staying at Cabin #3 at Canyon Creek Cabins. I have been wanting to visit this property since I first saw it years ago on Instagram, so when the owners reached out and asked if I would like to stay there in exchange for creating some content for them, I had to say yes!
The property is located in beautiful Granite Falls, Washington. Although you feel fully immersed in nature when you’re at the cabin, it really is quite close to Lake Stevens, where you can access grocery stores and restaurants. Google maps tells me that from the cabin, you’re only 23 minutes from the Safeway in Lake Stevens. That being said, we chose to bring all of our groceries with us so that we never had to leave for the two nights of our stay.
Navigating to the cabin was easy, as it sits just off the Mountain Loop Highway. As we approached the cabin, we drove over a narrow bridge where I was able to get my first good look at Canyon Creek. The granite rock along the river is truly mesmerizing, making the water appear a striking shade of greenish blue. Coupled with the seemingly ancient cedar trees looming over the river and cabin, it was even more beautiful than I had imagined.
The first thing I wanted to do when we arrived was get in the hot tub, but Adam suggested getting the fireplace going before we hop in. That ended up being a great idea because not only is the fireplace visually soothing, but it made for the perfect place to warm up after getting wet in the hot tub.
We soaked in the hot tub until it was dark outside, as Nova and Shadow looked on from a safe distance. They seemed really suspicious of the hot tub and didn’t want to get very close! But as we sat there and I had the chance to take in my surroundings, I was completely awestruck. The combination of being on that creek and surrounded by cedar trees and ferns does something to my brain that I can’t describe. I felt like I could stay out there forever.
After we got out of the hot tub and showered, we decided it was time to make dinner. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed to prepare our meal: baked steelhead, sautéed asparagus, and boiled potatoes. After dinner we baked cookies, too. Not from scratch, but with the kitchen utensils stocked, we could have baked them from scratch.
We spent the next day soaking in the hot tub, cooking meals, and capturing everything we could. Adam even cooked us a pizza on the BBQ grill on the deck! The cabin does have wifi, but there is no TV, which I appreciated. We listened to records, talked, and read for entertainment. It really peaceful.
There are two other cabins on the property that look equally as beautiful, and we hope to visit those at some point as well. When we do I will be sure to post about them on here!
